The 70th Sidmouth Folk Festival

Sidmouth Folk Festival, championing traditional music, dance, and song since 1955, has created an inclusive music community celebrating the rich diversity of UK folk arts.
Held in the scenic East Devon seaside town of Sidmouth, the exciting week-long event features top concert stars, emerging talents, exclusive shows, folk dances, Morris dances, vibrant dance displays, street entertainers, storytelling, and a Children's Festival. Enjoy a broad array of interactive activities, workshops, and much more.
Lined along the seafront you will find stalls of all variety including vibrant art, crafts and festival clothing, hair braids and feathers and face painting,

Sidmouth Regatta

Unfortunately, the air show will not take place for 2024.
Like many coastal towns in Devon, Sidmouth hosts an annual regatta over the August bank holiday weekend, which is a highlight of the town's calendar. The event features a variety of races and family-friendly activities against the stunning backdrop of Lyme Bay and the Jurassic Coast. The unique landscape adds to the excitement for participants and spectators alike.
Traditionally, the regatta coincides with the Sidmouth Air Show, which draws about 25,000 visitors to see impressive aerobatic displays over the seafront, including flypasts by the Red Arrows. Although the airshow will not take place in 2024, there is still plenty of activities on offer. On the Saturday local clubs such as the Gig club and surf life saving club will take part in a variety of races whilst a variety of family friendly activists and performances take place.
Saturday evening there is a spectacular fire work displace at the Port Royal end of the seafront. This event is one not to be missed.
Sidmouth Fair

Sidbury village, located a few miles inland from Sidmouth in the Sid Valley, is one of Devon's earliest settlements, with an Iron Age fort at Castle Hill. The River Sid, which runs from Crowpits Covert to Lyme Bay, flows through the village. Sidbury host a variety of holiday cottages - check them out here!
Mentioned in the Domesday Book as Sideberia, Sidbury is home to about 2,000 people and boasts a strong community with active clubs and organizations. The village has a pub (The Red Lion), a shop (Drews The Butchers), a primary school, and a village hall.
St Giles Church, with its rare Saxon crypt, is at the village center. Sidbury Mill, now restored, produces Sidbury flour available at local outlets like Drews Butchers.
Sidbury Fair Week begins with a Barn Dance in the Village Hall, followed by a Clay Shoot & Scarecrows event, a Fun Run and Walk, Hot Pennies, Fair Day, a Harvest Thanksgiving Service, and concludes with a Castle Hill Walk.
